Advanced Bots in RA
No names, ok i thats fine,
but some of you who play in Random Arenas, there is a certian hammer warrior who appears to be using some type of advanced bot program, alot of people who dont have the eye for such detection, but i assure you, its a bot.
every match starts of running signet of strength, and stays still for the entire match till it detects something in its radar and proceeds to chase the first target on the map, on small maps it obviously next to impossible to detect, but maps that are large like 'The Crag'(burning map), it wont move till something is in its radar, anyway to be sure, i did 20 odd observations, and sure enough, behaves the same every time.
now i've reported this couple times over a bit more of a week, with replies "we will use this info, and we wont contact you if action occurs blah blah"
it started appearing when those pink caped afk bots were exterminated.
Anyway your thoughts, have you seen it? etc etc

Wow I knew it would be a matter of time before someone with no life decided to make a PvP bot.
First off, no I have not seen it, yet. I haven't been doing as much RA as a was before.
Also, just think, soon there might be Touch Ranger bots running around. They would be so simple to make, and just about as good as a real person doing it.

Why would you want to bot RA? easier ways of unlocking than risking an account ban, and the gladiator title isnt really respected and the chance of getting 10 consec with the bot in that team would be extremely low anyway as its practically 3v4, probably take years to get a title with it.

Considering how often people (especially monks) leave as soon as they see a warrior on their team, this won't really change much in RA. I'm just glad the 55 monk bots finally got banned. They were more annoying than anything.

Seriously ppl should play the game properly. Who really goes to the effort to code something that has no enjoyment other than watching from your bed when someone runs into your radar and then laughing. Play damn it!!!

Some people do it because they can. Seeking attention is one of oldest reasons to do something harmful. Some of them probably just laugh and read these forums. Usually lonely people do that because they love others attention.

Some people also see it as a challenge; to find ways around a game's security measures is like solving a complex puzzle to some. Yes, it's illegal and irritating, but that's how some get their kicks.

I stopped RA when the trapper bots and 55/bond bots were abundant, but your description of the warrior seems to be similar to the way the monk bots worked. It's unfortunate to hear it's still a problem there.

This online game I used to play, runescape, had 25 bots at any given time in the good mining spots. The staff seemed to ignore them for years then the bots just all dissappeared at once when RS updated their engine and mentioned something about a new bot blocking program. Think GW could find the same update?

2 things;
1. Runescape is a very simple game, and most good hackers don't care about it.
2. The old "bot blocker" has obviously had a counter made up by now.

Anet just need to keep at what they are doing. It's not hard to find a botter when the person who made it can't help but put up a download link for everyone to see.

Boo hoo. Who cares if someone is botting? It's not like they're botting HoH or anything, just a cruddy RA whoop dee doo. It's not like they are getting consecutive wins or anything anyway from the sounds of it.

Yea you indeed sound very ignorant
I think a lot of people care if they are bots, you might not like RA but some people do, and bots kinda mess up the fun don't they?
